Professor Hiromu Mori had started his career as Radiologist at Nagasaki University School of Medicine in 1977. He has been serving as Professor and Chairperson of Department of Radiology at Oita University Faculty of Medicine for 22 years since 1992.

He published numerous publications including 200 refereed original articles in English, 215 refereed original articles in Japanese. He has been a guest speaker of 65 international invited lectureships. He had been awarded 50 International Congress Awards including 3 Magna Cum Laude Award, 7 Cum Laude Award as the 1st author or corresponding author in the fields of Abdominal Imaging and Interventional Radiology. He has been serving as reviewer for RADIOLOGY since 1995 with awards of “RADIOLOGY editor’s recognition award for reviewing with distinction” for five times, and has been serving as Editor for Abdominal Imaging since 1999. He was appointed as the associate editor of Vascular and Interventional Radiology of RADIOLOGY and the associate editor of Abdominal Imaging in 2013.

Research interests relate to abdominal imaging, especially of pancreas and retroperitoneum. He also is interventional radiologist and is particularly interested in developing arterial chemotherapy for cancers including pancreatic cancer as one of cutting edges of Oncologic Intervention for a recent decade.

He is also now serving as President of Japanese Society of Abdominal Radiology (JSAR), President-elect of Asian Society of Abdominal Radiology (ASAR), and National Representative to and Corresponding Fellow of European Society of Gastrointestinal and Abdominal Radiology (ESGAR).
